«Плоские дома» в Москве

«Плоские» дома в действительности вовсе не плоские. Когда смотришь на них под определённым углом, кажется, что стоит узкая многоэтажная стена с окнами и балконами. Возможно, что эффект оптической иллюзии — хитрый замысел архитектора.

«Дом авиаторов», или «Дом-сороконожка» в Москве

В Москве в начале XX века приступают к постройке домов на стилобате — строения на опорах. Эти дома считались элитными, квартиры очередникам в них не давали. В народе подобные дома называли «дома на ножках», «избушки на курьих ножках». Причины появления домов такого типа — нежелание жить на первом этаже из-за сырости и прохожих, любящих заглядывать в окна.

«Дом авиаторов» известен как «Сороконожка» или «Осьминог» — 40 опор, по 20 с каждой стороны. Жилой дом построили в 1978 году по проекту архитектора Андрея Дмитриевича Меерсо́на.

Первоначально здание на Беговой улице должны были построить на берегу Химкинского водохранилища, рядом с метро «Водный стадион». Дом подняли для прохода под ним к набережной. К началу Олимпиады 1980 года здание ставят на главном въезде в Москву, при этом не достраиваются три этажа по технологическим причинам.

Название «Дом авиаторов» появилось когда на Беговой в доме 34 поселились первые жильцы — работники авиационного завода «Знамя Труда». Изначально планировалось заселить гостей «Олимпиады-80».

Прежде чем начать собственное дело, основатели офиса Behnisch & Partner, Штутгарт, присматривали за новым залом пленарных заседаний Bundeshaus в Бонне (1992). 4a Architects являются членами-основателями Немецкого совета по устойчивому строительству — DGNB e. V. и начальная школа во Франкфурте-Ридберге (1-я премия, 2001 г.) вместе с Институтом пассивного дома в Дармштадте спроектировали и реализовали одну из первых школ пассивного дома в Германии в 2004 году .

«Дом под рюмкой» в Москве

«Дом под рюмкой» или «Доходный дом Я. М. Филатова» строили в два этапа. В 1904 году четырёхэтажную часть дома построил архитектор Эрнст-Рихард Карлович Нирнзее. В 1909 году завершается шестиэтажная часть дома с перевёрнутой рюмкой на башне. Над проектом работали архитектор Валентин Евгеньевич Дубовской и соавтор архитектор Николай Алексеевич Архипов.

Стены здания используют архитектурные элементы фасада в стиле модерн: рыбьи головы, водоросли, ракушки, подводные морские чудовища. Если присмотреться внимательнее к дому, можно увидеть на фасаде чайную ложку.

Почему рюмка на угловой башне. Скорее всего, это архитектурный замысел мастера Валентина Дубовского.

«Дом-паровоз» в Москве

Здание на пересечении Новой Басманной и Садовой-Черногрязской улиц построили в 1759 году. Здесь располагались Дворцовая канцелярия, продовольственные склады, строение называли «Запасный дворец».

После 1917 года в доме разместился Народный комиссариат путей сообщения.

Шествие пленных немцев летом 1944 года у здания НКПС. Площадь Красных Ворот.

Архитектор Иван Александрович Фомин в 1930-х годах здание увеличил с трёх до пяти этажей, затем пристроил башню, которая напоминала паровозную трубу. В народе здание называли «Дом-паровоз» и «Дом с трубой». С 2004 года здание принадлежит ведомству РЖД.

Before starting their own business, the office founders at Behnisch & Partner, Stuttgart, looked after the new plenary hall of the Bundeshaus in Bonn (1992). In 1992, the office for the MBM System Pavilion, an exhibition stand with a modular principle, received recognition at the Saxon State Prize for Design . The first thermal bath to be built , the TuWass thermal and leisure pool in Tuttlingen, received the BDA award Good Buildings Baden-Württemberg in 2002, as did the renovation of the Röchling lecture hall in Mannheim Castle. A large part of the pool projects are based on competition successes back as the Bodensee-Therme Konstanz (1st Prize, 1998), the Spreewaldtherme in Burg (1st Prize, 2003), the school and leisure Syrdall alluvial in Luxembourg (1st prize, 2005) and the Therme Wien with Health Center (1st Prize, 2006).

The first international project is the Else Club wellness park in Moscow. The Therme Wien from 2010 is the most comprehensive project with a total area of approx. 75,000 m². At the International Hotel Application Award 2011, the Spreewald Thermenhotel award in the “Best Hotel Concept” category. In 2014, 4a Architekten on the Côte d’Azur renovated and rebuilt the listed Villa Le Trident by the American modernist architect Barry Dierks .

4a Architects are founding members of the German Sustainable Building Council — DGNB e. V. and with the primary school in Frankfurt-Riedberg (1st prize, 2001) together with the Passive House Institute Darmstadt in 2004 planned and realized one of the first passive house schools in Germany.

Stuttgart/Moscow, September 2013. A house built in the 1990s, a client who openly welcomes change and a team of architects who are able to give a new identity to a building. House N in Moscow speaks a clear and autonomous architectural language inside and out – with form and detail precisely in tune with other.

A bright, spacious and open house – this was the client’s wish and therefore the guiding principle behind 4a Architekten’s redesign of this residence in Moscow. Through dialogue, an impressive re-interpretation of the existing building that was constructed in the 1990s and which in future is to offer space both to a family of four and to numerous art objects in a living area of 350 m2. This brought about a radical change to the original appearance of the house. Although the existing building structure has been largely preserved, the house now reveals entirely new facets: a generously glazed structural shell with a front ramp emerges from the existing volume to create a new, eye-catching entrance situation. Here, shape and form capture the existing structures and axes while this reinterpretation bears all the hallmarks of 4a Architekten. Strikingly yet cautiously, the glazed shell wraps itself around the original building, creating a soft transition from the existing to the newly-built. The house interior has also undergone a powerful transformation: since the conversion, the different areas of the entrance level merge smoothly into each other. The original floor plan structure, which was previously divided into small sections, was eliminated through the removal of non-supporting walls. An open-plan interior landscape with a living and dining area, fireplace and kitchen now forms the focal point of the house. This communal area exudes a pleasant air of spaciousness with great freedom of movement. An air space with an open staircase links the ground floor with the upper storeys. The resulting interplay with the large-surface glazing, offering a splendid view across the gardens that cover an area of 2,500 m2, gives rise to an expansive feeling of space. The two upper storeys serve as a private place into which to retreat. The master bedroom, complete with dressing room, bathroom and free-standing bathtub, is located on the first floor, while the top floor accommodates the two children’s rooms and another bathroom. In the basement, a sauna area and a recreation room with access to the garden offer further high-quality living space.

House N now displays resolute clarity and sleek elegance after its modernisation. This language of form is in part due to the reduction in the use of materials – oak floorboards, steel, glass and wood shape the spatial impression inside and out. The white plastered wall surfaces give the building a tranquil atmosphere while at the same time forming the backdrop for the client’s numerous art objects. 4a Architekten have succeeded in lending a contemporary ambience to the existing building structure, creating a high quality of living perfectly tailored to meet the residents’ needs.
